Description
Sankaat is pleased to present for your consideration this rare pair of early (circa 1730) 18th century Chinese export porcelain Batavia tea bowls and saucers with gilt Imari decoration. This rare matching pair of original Kang Hsi era tea bowls and saucers are brightly enameled with iron red and gilding over an ungerglaze blue, in the classic Chinese Export Imari palette- made after the popularity of the Japanese Arita porcelain. This set is in excellent condition with no serious damage and minor wear to the gilding and minor foot rim “gritting” to the saucers commensurate with age. This very rare original pair is in remarkable condition and would be ideal for the museum or discriminating collector of Yongzheng and Kangxi Chinese export porcelain! Thank you very much for viewing this auction.
