Presented is an antique pair of handmade silver earrings dating to c. 1900-1920.
These are constructed of 935 silver and probably come from Germany.
Each is set with 4 opal cabochons, and they are quite lively!
The opals are set in fine millegrain bezels surrounded by a double layer of thin rope twist wire.
Each earring is also set with an ancient faience scarab bead with a turquoise glaze.
Note there is a slight difference in the thickness of the glazes.
I love how the scarabs are set.
The earrings have their original screwback fittings.
These are exceptionally pretty Arts & Crafts earrings.
Marks
Each screwback is marked 935 and 800 with a mark indicating these were imported into Austria.
Presumably the earrings themselves are 935 silver and the screwbacks are 800.
